Crossfit Gwinnett Founder

I've been CrossFitting for about 5 years. Before that, I played competitive ice hockey. I started playing Ice Hockey when I was about 11 years old and stopped after my last season with Rutgers University. Other than that, I've always been a fitness enthusiast and have lifted weights as long as I can remember. After living abroad in England for three years, I move back to Georgia and started CrossFit Gwinnett in my garage in 2007. After a few years in the garage, I realized that the demand was to great to run out of my garage and I partnered with Caleb and Kelly to move CFG to a  "real" location. In the Spring of 2014, I attended the National Pro Grid League Combines in Atlanta and Las Vegas. I was ultimately drafted as a 40+ athlete to the Miami Surge. In addition to being an avid CrossFitter and Pro GRIDDER, I am also a Neuroscience Professor at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville. My 4 year old, Spencer, can often be seen running around the gym, swinging on rings or pestering the coaches!

I do Crossfit because, of the community and the intensity. I love the way a CrossFit group is like a support group.

I coach because I love to help people reach their goals. There are few things as satisfying as witnessing a person's transformation and  them reaching their goals. As an educator "by day", coaching is a natural extension; teaching people new skills and watching them get better just makes my day!

My best exercise is: The Deadlift.

The exercise I am terrible at is: The Snatch

My favorite superhero is: Superman.
